Touch screen monitors
A touchscreen monitor is a computer screen that can be operated by touching it with one or more fingers. The most common type of touch screen is the capacitive touch screen, which uses electrostatic charges to detect when and where a finger or stylus touches the screen. Capacitive touch screens are found in smartphones, tablets, and other portable devices. They are also increasingly used in cars, kiosks and payment terminals. resistive touchscreens, which use pressure to detect touch input, are less common, but can be found in some older smartphones and PDAs. Infrared touch screens use an array of infrared light-emitting diodes to detect when and where a finger or stylus is touching the screen. Surface acoustic wave touch screens use ultrasonic waves reflected from the touched object to detect input. Finally, optical imaging touchscreens capture images of small objects touching the screen; this technology is not as common as other types of touchscreens.
